JDBC Error - java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Hello experts,

We have migrated to PI 7.40 Single Stack and are getting intermittent alerts about some JDBC channels.

Error raised like:

Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement '... [our SQL statement]... '

Error then continues:

The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'com.jnetdirect.jsql.g: DBComms.receive exception:[java.net.SocketException: Connection reset], Context:[(53210) [XI JDBC2XI[..."MY_CC_NAME/My_COMPONENT_NAME/]_171560, IO:65dba, Dbc:4d725]], PktNum:0, TotalReceived:0, PktSize:4096'. For details, contact your database server vendor.",

After the connection reset, the channel tries again and succeeds. This is good, but it is cluttering up our logs on a regular basis and sending false positive alerts.

We already implemented the idea #7 in JDBC FAQ - SAP NOTE 831162, to enable the Advanced Mode, Disconnect from Database After Processing Each Message. This does not seem to help our situation, we still get about 20 of these connection resets per day.

Can you think of a tuning parameter which may improve these JDBC connections to MS SQL Server?

Many thanks for your experience,

Aaron Myers
