Hi experts,
We have a third party software package that we are using to make certain updates to records in our ECC system. We need to take the user profile from the third party software and qualify wither the user has the authority to make the change to the record. We understand the profile names in the third party system must be identical to the ones in SAP, and we have verified that they are. When I started investigating how to do this I found the principal propagation would be the best and easiest way to do this, and according to what I have read this is doable with a third party system. However I am starting to think that it is NOT doable with a third party system. For beginners, I cannot find one good example, on the net, of doing this with a third party system.
I have followed all the directions how to configure principal propagation, how to turn it on in PI, adding certificates, and so forth. The first problem we have encountered is how does the third party system get a certificate? Next, when generating the WSDL from the sender agreement, there is no place for a certificate. How does that work?
So does any know or have a valid example of doing principal propagation with a third party system via PI using the Soap Adapter?
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
